What every Calis structure is built to — the alloys, the coating class, the glazing and the wind- and snow-load calculations. Project-specific figures are always stated in your quote.

Structure & coating warranty

These are the defaults we build to. Individual projects may exceed them — a wider span, a heavier snow zone, a coastal site — and the specifics for your build are set out in the signed quote.

Structure & profiles

The load-bearing frame is extruded aluminium, alloy EN AW-6060 / 6063 in T6 temper — rigid, dimensionally stable and corrosion-resistant without further treatment.

  • Posts and beams sized per project; larger spans take an added beam or intermediate post rather than a heavier assumption.
  • Profiles cut to length, de-burred and pre-assembled in our own workshop.
  • Fasteners in stainless steel (A2, A4 near the coast).
  • Wall fixings selected for the substrate — solid brick, cavity wall, rendered or timber-frame.

Coating & colour

All aluminium is powder-coated after fabrication to a Qualicoat-class standard, Seaside (class 2) specification available for coastal projects.

  • Any RAL colour; fine-texture and matt finishes standard.
  • Coating applied over a chromate-free pre-treatment.
  • Warranty: 10 years against blistering, flaking and significant colour change under normal exposure.

Glazing & roof panels

Roof glazing is laminated safety glass to EN 14449; vertical glass in sliding and side walls is toughened or laminated to EN 12150 / EN 14449 as the application requires.

  • Roof: laminated safety glass, typically 8.8 or 10.8 mm, clear, opal or tinted.
  • Polycarbonate roof option: UV-protected multi-wall sheet, clear or opal.
  • Frameless sliding walls: 10 mm toughened glass on a low bottom track, up to six lanes.
  • All glass CE-marked with the manufacturer's declaration of performance.

Wind & snow loads

Every structure is calculated to the Eurocode: EN 1991-1-3 (snow) and EN 1991-1-4 (wind), with the national annex and the wind and snow zone for the build address.

  • Snow load taken from the regional characteristic value, not a flat national figure.
  • Wind load account for terrain category, building height and local exposure.
  • Deflection limited so glass and seals are never over-stressed.
  • Calculations are on file and available on request.

Drainage & fixings

Rainwater is carried in a gutter integrated into the front beam and taken down through one or more posts — no external downpipes clipped to the frame.

  • Internal downpipe routed through a hollow post to a connection at the base.
  • Gutter sized for the roof area and the regional rainfall intensity.
  • Overflow provision on larger roofs.
  • Ground fixing to a footing or existing hard standing, checked on site.

Lighting & electrical

Integrated lighting and any motors for screens or louvres are wired inside the profiles — no visible cabling on the finished structure.

  • LED spots rated IP65 or better, dimmable, warm-white by default.
  • Screen and louvre motors with remote control; sun-and-wind sensor optional.
  • Connection to a nearby outdoor circuit; a dedicated circuit is the customer's electrician's work unless agreed otherwise.
  • Electrical parts carry a 2-year warranty.

Warranty

The warranty is set out in full in your signed quote. In summary:

  • 10 years on the aluminium structure and the powder coating.
  • 10 years on laminated roof glass against delamination.
  • 2 years on electrical parts — lighting, motors, sensors and controls.
  • Service and warranty visits are carried out by our own fitters.
